1st compere: Good evening, dear boys and girls, teachers and guests!
We are very glad to see you. I think you all like fairy-tales. Our English party is devoted to fairy-tales.You’ll see such plays as “Little Red-Cap”, ”Turnip”, “The wolf and three little kittens”. Besides, we’ll sing songs.
We hope you’ll enjoy the party.
First, let’s sing the song “The calendar song”. Let’s begin together.

LITTLE RED-CAP (Красная шапочка)
Scene 1.
Mother: Little Red-Cap, our Grandmother is very ill. Go and take a cake and some milk to her.
Little Red-Cap: All right, Mother (takes the jug of milk and the cake and peels them in the basket).
Mother: You mustn’t speak to anybody on the way. And don’t pick any flowers. Don’t stop anywhere.
Little Red-Cap: All right, dear Mother. Good-bye!

Scene 2.
The wood. Little Red-Cap is on the way to her Grandmother.
She is picking flowers.
Little Red-Cap: How nice it is here!
Wolf: Good morning, little Red-Cap!
Little Red-Cap: Good morning, Mr. Wolf!
Wolf: Where are you going?
Little Red-Cap: I am carrying a cake and some milk to my Grandmother.
Wolf: Where does she live?
Little Red-Cap: She lives in the middle of the wood.
Wolf: Thank you. Good bye!
Little Red-Cap: Good bye!

Scene 3.
The 1st Hunter: We are the brave, brave hunters.
The 2nd Hunter: We are marching through the wood.
The 1st Hunter: All day long we look for food, we are not afraid of
anything.
The 2nd Hunter: And what about a Wolf?
The 1st Hunter: What? A Wolf?
The 2nd Hunter: Yes, a Wolf.
The 1st Hunter: Well, except for a Wolf, we are not afraid of anything.

Scene 4.
The Grandmother’s room. The Wolf is in bed in the Grandmother’s
dress and cap. He hears knocks.
Wolf: Come in. ( Little Red-Cap enters the room.)
Little Red-Cap: Good morning, my dear Grandmother! Why, grandmother, what big eyes you have!
Wolf: The better to see you, child!
Little Red-Cap: What big ears you have!
Wolf: The better to hear you!
Little Red-Cap: What sharp teeth you have!
Wolf: The better to eat you! ( jumps out of the bed)
Little Red-Cap: Help! Help!
Hunters run into the room. They kill the Wolf.
Grandmother and Little Red-Cap: Oh, Hunters, thank you very much!

2nd compere: Thank you very much! Well, now let’s listen to the poem
“ I see…“ (one of the pupils reads the poem).
I see a hen.
I see a pen.
I see a clock, clock, clock.
I see a cock, cock, cock.
1st compere: Thanks for your poem. We continue our party.

TURNIP (Репка)
Grandfather: Oh, what a big turnip we have in our garden.
I want to pull it out ( he tries to pull it out.) One, two, three! One, two, three! It is too big for me. Granny, come here!
Grandmother: All right, Grandfather, I am coming. One, two, three! One, two, three! It is too big for us. Granddaughter, come here! Help us, please!
Granddaughter: All right, I am coming. Oh, what a big turnip! One, two, three! One, two, three! It is too big for us. Dog, dog, help us, please!
Dog: I am coming. What’s the matter? Oh, what a big turnip! One, two, three! One, two, three! It is too big for us. Cat, cat, help us, please!
Cat: All right, I am coming. Oh, what a big turnip! Let’s try to pull it out together. One, two, three! One, two, three! It is too big for us. Mouse, mouse, help us, please!
Mouse: All right, I am coming. Oh, what a big turnip! One, two, three! One, two, three! ( The turnip is pulled out.)
Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter, Dog, Cat : Thank you, Mouse!

1st compere: That’s very nice. It’s time to dramatize our fairy-tale:

THE WOLF AND THREE LITTLE KITTENS
(Волк и три котёнка)

A room in the Cat’s house. The cat and her three kittens are sitting at the table. She is reading a book to them.
Cat (rising):Children, I am going to buy some milk and bread. You must be good and sit still or the wolf will hear you.
( She goes away.)
Black Kitten: I shall read and sit very still.
Grey Kitten: I shall write and sit very still.
White Kitten: I shall look out of the window and sit very still.
(The Wolf comes up to the door and looks through
the key-hole. He knocks at the door.)
Kittens( all together):Who is knocking at the door?
Wolf: It ‘s me. Your Mother. Open the door.
White Kitten: Show me your paw through the window.
(The Wolf raises his paw and show it through the window.)
White Kitten: This is not Mother’ s paw. Mother’s paw is white, your paw is black. I shall not open the door.
( In a minute the Wolf comes to the door again and knocks.)
Kittens: Who is knocking at the door?
Wolf: It ‘s me. Your Mother. Open the door.
Black Kitten: Your voice is not sweet. You are not our Mother.
Wolf ( to himself): What can I do to make my voice sweet? Oh, I know. I’ll eat sugar and my voice will become sweet. (He takes out of his pocket some pieces of sugar, eats them and knocks at the door again.)
Kittens: Who is knocking at the door?
Wolf ( in a sweet voice): It ‘s me. Your Mother. Open the door.
Kittens (gladly): That’s Mother! Let’s open the door.
Wolf: Ha, ha, ha! It’s not your Mother. It’s me, the Wolf. I shall eat you up. You, silly kittens!
( The three little kittens, screaming, run about the room to hide.)
Kittens: Ha, ha, ha, Mr.Wolf, you don’t see us. Go away! You will not catch us. Go away!
( Mother’s voice is heard from the outside. The Wolf runs away. The Cat comes in.)
Cat: Children, where are you? What’s the matter?
Kittens: Oh, Mother! The Wolf has been here. He wanted to eat us up.
Cat: Don’t let anybody in when your mother is out.
